April 2004
- April 3 - My new owners came and got me today and took me to my new home in Memphis, TN!
- April 4 - I met my new stepsister, Abby. She is a Pom mix and is 10 years old
- April 19 - I went and got my 2nd shots at the Vet today. I weighed 15 pounds!
- April 26 - I am almost potty trained! I only had one accident all week!
May 2004
- May 3 - I love to play fetch! I have many toys to play with.
- May 10 - I went for my 3rd shots today. I weigh 23 pounds now!
- May 11 - I haven't had an accident in the house all week! Abby and I like to play together.
I put her picture in my photo album!
- May 15 - I had my first obedience class today! There are 6 other puppies in my class.
I am learning many new things. We had playtime and we ran all over. It was so much fun! I can't wait until next week!
- May 22 - I went to the Greater Shelby Kennel Club Agility Trials this morning! It was really cool! There were alot of smart dogs there! They had to run this course and do jumps and stuff. I want to learn how to do that too! You can see some pictures on my Photo Album Page and at the GSKC Agility Page!
I went to my Obedience class at noon today and I learned the word "Stay". We had been practicing the week before, so I knew what "Stay" meant. When I got home this afternoon I was really tired! I slept all afternoon!
- May 26 - I went and got an eye exam this morning! Some collies have an eye disease that can cause blindness. The doctor put some drops in my eyes and then he checked my eyes under some special lights. He said that my eyes were both "Normal" which is great! The doctor gave us a form to mail so I can get a certificate that shows my eyes are OK.
- May 29 - Today I had Obedience school at noon. It was fun to see my new friends again. I am learning that the word "come" is very important. We had playtime and I ran all over with the other puppies in the class. A new classmate came today, he is a black labrador retreiver.
- May 30 - Tonight a bad storm came through the area and we lost our power! We had to light candles and it was spooky!
- May 31 - Today is Memorial Day! We still have no power and we had to eat everything in the refridgerator before it spoiled. I love eating hard boiled eggs! They are really good! The power finally came back on tonight at midnight. It was nice having air conditioning again!
June 2004- June 1 - Today I went to the vet and got my rabies shot. It didn't really hurt at all! They put me on the scale and I weigh 31 pounds! They gave me a pill that will help prevent worms and fleas from "bugging" me!
- June 5 - I had my 4th Obedience class today. My new friend, Normand, is a yellow lab puppy. We like to run around and play tag with each other. Today I learned "down" and "stand".
- June 12 - Today was my 5th Obedience Class. We reviewed many of the things I have learned in the passed month. Next week is my graduation!
- June 19 - Today was my last Puppy Obedience class and we had graduation! I got a certificate and all the puppies got special dog bone treats! All the handlers and masters got cake and ice cream!
- June 26 - Today I started the adult obedience classes! I am getting to be a big girl now! There are lots of different breeds in my class!
July 2004- July 3 - Today we started training for the Canine Good Companion Test. There are 10 different things that I have to learn to pass the test. Today we worked on sit/stay and down/stay. I am supposed to sit and not move until Don tells me too. On the down/stay, I lay down and do not move until Don tells me to.
July 10 - Today at class, we worked on stand/stay and doing our heeling exercises. In the stand/stay, I stand very still and wait until Don tells me to do something else. This is very hard! I like to stay with Don and I want to be near him! I am learning!
July 17 - Today we practiced in the show ring! We did heeling exercises, a figure eight exercise (where we walk around some cones), the sit/stay, down/stay and the stand/stay. I am also learning "place", which means to come and sit down on the left of Don.
July 24 - After class today we went to Shelby Farms. It is a big park with lakes and lots of woods and open fields. I went swimming in the lake and it was really fun! It helped cool me down!
August 2004- August 7 - Graduation for the Adult Class is going to be on August 29th. I have 4 more weeks to keep practicing. The Canine Good Companion test is going to be that day too! I sure hope I can learn how to stand/stay better before then! Today at class we did a practice run in the show ring and I did really good!
August 29 - Today I passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test! I earned a certificate that will come from the American Kennel Club! I also graduated from Obedience school today! They had cake and ice cream for the adults and treats for the dogs! It was alot of fun! I will have pictures up soon!
September 2004
- I am taking a break from training this month! We are preparing for the Showcase of Dogs that our kennel club sponsors every year!
October 2004- The showcase of Dogs was this month and it was a blast! I saw all kinds of different breeds of dogs. Don and Richard volunteered for the agility trials and we watched some champions in the ring. I want to learn how to do Agility!
November 2004- We had a great Thanksgiving "in the country" and I played with the kids. It was fun to have all that open space to run and have fun. We played fetch and I learned how to catch a frisbee in the air!
December 2004-
We had a wonderful Christmas and we had many new ornaments for our tree. We have all the Hallmark classic car series ornaments now. They are really cool. I even got a Lassie ornament that lights up!
My stocking was full of chew toys and pig ears. We even had some snow on the ground Christmas day! It was a white Christmas!
January 2005- We are going to start Agility training at the end of this month. It should be interesting! I will keep you posted! Check back soon for updates!
More to come!
